During a lot of marta's early days, I had the pleasure of conversing with her on many different issues. I still don't think I'd have rediscovered my trust in LJ without her help, so it's nice to see that recognized here ;] All in all, a fun interview to read; it's nice to get to know the person behind the all-too-familiar username!
This was really interesting -- thanks, both of you! :)
Dean, you know how frustrated I've been with LJ for--well, for quite some time now. This is the first year since getting a Paid account in 2001 that I chose not to renew, and I've gone from writing something literally every day (even if it was a private entry) to posting only a few times a month. Six Apart really soured my feelings toward the whole company... but SUP seems to have done considerably better with LJ, and your conversation with marta gives me a little bit of hope for the future. Now, I'm actually thinking about renewing my Paid account at some point. Early birthday present to myself, maybe. ;)
marta, thank you for all you do; it's nice to know that the person fielding our often-outraged comments actually understands this service and why we feel so strongly about it. :) Keep up the great work!
